My name is Carlo Ierna and I’m currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Philosophy of Utrecht University. My research project concerns the renewal of the ideal of “Philosophy as Science” in the School of Brentano. After working at the Husserl-Archives since 2004, in 2012 I became a recipient of one of the Dutch NWO Innovational Research Incentives Scheme VENI grants.
From January to May 2014 I am a Visiting Fellow in Philosophy at Harvard.
I have an MA in Philosophy (2002) and an MSc in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence (2008) from Utrecht University, and a PhD in Philosophy from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2009).
My recent research and publications focused on the the philosophy of mathematics in Husserl’s early works and the School of Brentano and I’m in the process of completing my book on “The Beginnings of Husserl’s Philosophy”.
